3 May 2013:exercise, shopping, politics, and dancing

At the gym, it was back and triceps emphasis, and then Sharon and I went to Lakeside Glass in Lorain, where we picked out things for our new shower.

We had lunch at Sorrento‘s, and then came home.

Much Progress was made on the bathroom.

I went to the 9th annual Lorain County Chairman‘s Banquet, where Ed Fitzgerald gave a good speech, and rewards were given to several long time activists.  (It is heart warming to read their stories).

When that was over, I headed over to the Avon Ballroom, where I was able to catch the end of the Friday Party, and have a few dances.

Tuesday 31 Jan 2012: voting, dancing, and transporting

We ate breakfast at IHOP, and then went to the Lorain County Board of Elections and voted – including a vote for me for precinct 2-B committee person.

Headed over to Kiedrowski’s world famous bakery in Amherst, where we bought one of their snoogles (TM).

I took a slice of snoogle to our dance lesson, and gave it to our instructor – Anya Khan, who loved it.

Raced away from the lesson to Cleveland Hopkins International, where I met and picked up our speaker for Wednesday, Katherine Stewart.

She was thrilled to have transportation, loved the MINI Cooper S Convertible (top down), and also the snoogle I had for her in the glove box.  I dropped her at her cousin’s in Pepper Pike, and then, on the way home, I stopped at a place Well Known to Me, where I gave a friend her first snoogle (and she is from Amherst!)

We went to dinner at  Carraba’s, in Westlake.

Monday 9 January 2012: banking, exercising, and defending civil liberties.

I started the day early, depositing the income from the Lorain County British car club at 9am, and then stopped at Goodwill to donate some old lamps, etc.

Next it was the gym, where I trained chest and biceps, and varied minor muscle groups.

In the evening, it was our local ACLU board meeting.

Back home, I rode my bike for 60 minutes.

Tuesday 15 Nov 2011: Seniors, hair, and dancing…

In the AM, I went to a Senior Voice meeting, where we covered our strategies for moving forward.
In the all important area of care for my hair, I had an appt. with Kim @ Headquarters in Lorain.  http://www.hqsalonspa.com/locations-lorain-hours

We had a dance lesson from amazing Anya at the Avon Ballroom.  New Foxtrot steps, and waltz, then we took a new coupon and went to dinner at woodfire grille  http://www.urbanspoon.com/u/photo_list/1586736?photo_id=474654

And I rode my bike for 45 min

3 Nov 2011: Phone Banking, dancing, and fine dining.

After lunch I went to the Lorain County Democratic Headquarters, to phone bank on issue 2(Vote no!)

We had a dancing lesson at Avon Ballroom with Anya: she taught us a new foxtrot pattern.

It was off to our son Allen and his wife Sarah’s house in Rocky River, where we admire their new kitten, and watched it play with their other cat.

We had an elegant dinner at Fahrenheit, in Trendy Tremont.

Tue 25 Oct 2011: Crusin; dancin; and politickin

Sharon had a hair appointment with Kim at Head Quarters Salon at 2:15, and after it we went to the Lorain County Board of Elections, where she voted (early).  We then went on a cruise, looking for Fall Foliage, not seeing much.  We stopped in Vermilion, and had a cup at the Main Street Grille (above).

Back home, we had a dance lesson (foxtrot, rumba, and swing) with Anya at the Avon Ballroom, and, after a quick meal, I went to the Avon Lake Democrats meeting.

Ended the day watching the Daily Show: the guest  was Walter Isaacson, whose biography of Einstein I liked, and whose biography of Steve Jobs I downloaded onto my iPad (how fitting!)

We also watched the President on the Leno Show – he was great!
